Holness apologises in Mandeville


Education Minister Andrew Holness Friday made an impassioned plea to the island's public sector teachers to accept the Government's current wage offer and apologised for recent comments made by Finance Minister Audley Shaw which stopped just short of calling the teachers' demand unreasonable.

Mandeviile gunmen captured


Residents of Bonito Crescent are breathing a little easier, while expressing appreciation to the Mandeville police for what one resident called "their brave action" in removing three gunmen from their community on Wednesday morning.

According to the residents, the trio had been terrorising the community for the last three months.

Bethabara student grateful for new wheelchair


Last week, a student of a Knockpatrick school was overcome with gratitude. Her MP, Peter Bunting, came to her school, Bethabara Primary & Junior High, to present her with a new, state-of-the-art motorized wheelchair.

Mandeville bartender missing


TWENTY-six year-old bartender Christine Scott of Greenvale District, Manchester, has been missing from home since December 24, 2009.

She is of dark complexion, medium build and about 162 centimetres (5 feet 4 inches) tall.

Manchester's Most Wanted Man Charged


Manchester’s most wanted man, 33-year-old Kevin Brown otherwise called “Chi-Chaani”, who was held by the Clarke’s Town Police in Trelawny last week, has been charged with two counts of illegal possession of firearm and ammunition and is to appear in the Falmouth Resident Magistrate’s Court later this week.
